EA is Looking to Remaster Classic Command & Conquer Games for PC With Input From Fans

EA is looking to remaster classic Command & Conquer games ahead of the upcoming 25th anniversary for the series and they want input from fans about what they’d like to see in the project.

In a special message to the OpenRA Command & Conquer community forum EA producer Jim Vessella, who served on the production team for Command & Conquer 3, made an appeal to forum members for feedback « to help influence our current thoughts for PC [development]. »

« As most of you may know, we recently announced Command & Conquer: Rivals, a mobile game set in the Command & Conquer universe. Following the reveal of Rivals, we heard you loud and clear: the Command & Conquer community also wants to see the franchise return to PC, » Vessella writes.

EA is apparently working on remastering classic Command & Conquer PC games and « already have the ball rolling » on the first effort meant to time with the series’ 25th anniversary.

A special message to OpenRA.

Command & Conquer: Rivals is the most recent game in the series, though it’s a streamline mobile game where two players battle against one another online in a small PvP match. Not quite the full PC experience of older Command & Conquer games. You can read our Command & Conquer impressions from E3 here.

Vessella says that in the coming weeks EA will be in touch with fans in « a variety of ways » but for now is looking for feedback from the OpenRA forums specifically about what should come next to PC in regard to a remaster. We anticipated a full announcement in the future.
