Final Fantasy Mystic Quest was an odd game in the Final Fantasy series, but everyone agrees that it had a banging soundtrack. Which is why arranger Sean Schafianski is creating Final Fantasy Mystic Quest Remastered Tracks to remind everyone just how killer the songs were in the Squaresoft USA classic.
« The soundtrack to Final Fantasy Mystic Quest is a cult classic, » Schafianski says. « The blend of rock, jazz, and delightfully cheesy synths was probably the best part of the game! » Schafianski says he wanted to stay true to the original songs but added in some modern twists. « Performers sometimes took the liberty of a solo here and there, but for the most part, this is the same soundtrack that we all fell in love with. » You can see an exclusive preview of the soundtrack below.
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, or Final Fantasy USA: Mystic Quest, was billed as a beginner-friendly entry into the Final Fantasy series released in 1992. It was also the first Final Fantasy game released in Europe when it came out in 1993. Released with simplified design and combat, the game had a fairly tepid release. Except for the music which was praised broadly by critics.
