Metro Exodus Goes Gold, Moves Up Release Date

Deep Silver and developer 4A Games announced today that Metro Exodus is finally gold after five years. As a result, Metro Exodus will ship a week earlier than anticipated on February 15, 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

« We had previously delayed the release date to ensure 4A Games had the time to deliver their ambitious vision for the game, but now we’re delighted to confirm that Metro Exodus has ‘gone gold’ and we are able to bring the release date forward to the 15th February 2019, » says Deep Silver CEO Klemens Kundratitz.

4A Games is celebrating the occasion by releasing the title sequence for Metro Exodus early. Created by the same team behind the Game of Thrones and Westworld title sequences, the Metro Exodus video evokes the uniquely Russian-based mutant apocalypse quite well. It’s hard to believe filmmakers tried to set a Metro movie in Washington D.C.

Metro Exodus’ new release date also means it will avoid launching on the same date as Anthem which is set to release on February 22, 2019. Though thanks to EA Origins, Anthem will launch earlier for some players anyways.

We’re pretty excited for Metro Exodus and have it on our list of most anticipated games for 2019.
